Homework in Media Studies
The Media Studies department regularly sets homework tasks that feed into the lessons. This generally includes researching issues and debates, viewing materials and completing practical tasks.
Media Studies homework at KS5 is set two or three times a week depending on how time-consuming the tasks are. Alongside a course folder for written class notes, hand outs and written assignments, students will create, customise and maintain an online blog. This digital facility allows e-safe and effective tutor-student interaction, signposting of texts, setting tasks and will ultimately host the students' final practical submissions and evaluations for grading and examination board moderating. It is crucial also to the development of all students' Digital Literacy skills – an area which is key to the modern media student.
